Drill:
6:00 a.m. OR 5:30 p.m.

Workout:
CrossFit anytime!

Today's Discussion:
How are we all feeling after 1 week? What differences have you noticed? Are we getting enough rest, food, and sleep? Does anyone feel run down and if so, what days? If it was Saturday running after Karen, totally understandable, but anytime else let us know, you probably aren't the only one. We will start discussing how to care for our bodies in the upcoming weeks so post a quick comment so we know where everyone stands and what to hit on first.

The will to win means nothing if you haven't the will to prepare.

  1. Literally, my quads are still sore this morning. I think some of my issues are my recovery time may take slightly longer. It doesn't hurt to workout, but I know I can't give 100%.

    1. You're absolutely right George. Recovery and fueling yourself is absolutely critical for what we are doing here. Sounds like you are experiencing some pretty rough DOMS....ahhh stupid Karen! I'd really advise you to just come to drill today and skip the CrossFit class (as lunges/rower will only breakdown your body even more). Sometimes the best CrossFit decisions are to take a day off and recover and come back strong the next day!

  2. my biggest issue is energy, I tend to eat more carbs in the morning and then add a few right before a workout. Maybe I am sabotaging my workouts this way. I have had much less energy since the BAD ride and I cant seem to get it back to where it was.

    1. Yeah Lena, the answer to your maybe question is yes you are, so this is great you figured it out. With you we should start working on more balanced meal throughout the entire day. Especially as an evening exerciser lunch is critical, along with a solid afternoon snack/mini meal. Complex carbohydrates, especially vegetables along with a quality fats should be staples every meal for you with all the aerobic energy that you burn.

  3. Lunch is my smallest meal of the day, usually just some grilled chicken. Warning, I am not a vegetable eater. I did make a green smoothie today with some fruits (pineapples, bananas, grapes, mangos, peaches) plus two cups of spinach.

    1. WHAT? No vegetables? I suspect this, low carb, is the major contributor to your sluggish feeling. Is it the taste/texture, what can we do to get your eating vegetables? Especially to get some carbs at lunch. Smoothies every day?

  4. Its definitely a texture issue for me. I am a feeding specialist at work and work with kids with feeding /texture issues, but I am a terrible patient myself!! I just cant do it!! I can do a smoothie everyday if I have to. I found this great website with lots of recipes, as long as fruit is mixed in I can do it.
